That, Opponauts, is Interstate 40 in Eastern Tennessee. My grandparents live in Myrtle Beach from the winter until spring break starts happening, so my dad and I are going to visit them over winter break. Twisty parts of I40 are included in that journey. Some of the corners on that road are absurd. As far as interstates go, nothing I've driven beats it. Appalachian interstate can be a blast when there's not roadwork or shit weather. The last time we visited MB, we were in my mom's 05 CR-V. How I longed for a car that didn't understeer like a fucking barge on that road. This time around, we're taking the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Now the key to a successful trip is finding a weekend with low traffic and no snow...

That's gonna be tough, but road trips never suck so it should still be fun. Now I must try to get back to studying so the trip isn't filled with awkward "get your grades up son" pep-talks.

This particular shot reminds me of the starting of the movie Super Troopers, the road was pretty much similar except that it was a bit large.

When I-26 from NC I-40 to TN was expanding to 4-lane in the 90's, The Wall Street Journal lauded that we would be able to move up from mules and carts.
The roads are wonky because it was cheaper to go around the hill. No problem.. Banked turns. (I hear transplants to other areas have had a tendency to fall off of curves due to this)
A strange mix of 2 and 4 lane.. There's roads here that could make a enthusiast trash their German passport to save on the Carolina lawyer for traffic court. imho.
But yeah, I've wanted to run that Toyotabaru through the course. Think the sales guy would mind a 2 hour 105 mile test drive?

My brother used to live in south Carolina. Took this highway from Ohio every time I drove there, and wished I had a performance car to do it. However, once I did get caught in a blizzard and squals. That was no fun. Closer to the Carolinas, I distinctly remember a very steep incline/decline that I love. I bought my cavalier off of my brother, and couldn't get past 55 with my foot to the floor going up.

Wish my son felt the same way.

That's no good, is he still in high school or in college? I for one didn't put forth anything resembling effort in high school, but my grades were decent. School was the last thing I gave a shit about. Luckily, my solid ACT got me into a good college, where I've actually found value in learning due to... maturity I guess.
